The Dangers of Using Household Chemical Pesticides

Why such statement? Because when we use pesticides, we usually display the manner of only wanting to solve the symptoms of the problem, not the root cause. We never bother to find out how our homes got infested. Worse, with our due ignorance, we cast upon ourselves great harm. By using chemicals, we expose ourselves, our families, pets and property to hazards from chemicals.

Hazards from Chemical Pesticides

Many pesticides contain great amounts of active ingredients which are chemicals designed to kill. They also contain other ingredients from solvents, detergents, baits and other chemicals. These chemicals are toxic. Why they are not safe for use?

Pesticides are just some of the substances that when misused or abused can cause chemical poisoning at home, reason why these are some of the things you should keep out of reach from children.

Every year, many hospitals receive call from parents whose children suffer from poisoning, and a significant number of cases involve exposure to household pesticides.

Health problems

When pesticide manufacturers tell you their products are safe for use, that?s a lie. It?s time for people to know that long-term, these chemical products can cause not only incidents of poisoning but also long-term health problems. ?Exposure to pesticides is the easiest way to cancer, birth defects and disorder of the nervous system.

We are advised to keep these things away from our children, however, when we use them, we are leaving behind spots of pesticide contamination.

With sprays and baits, naphthalene and rat killers, we can never be careful. Our kids or pets are sure to pick them up or lick on areas that have been sprayed. Poisoning could be readily remedied if the victim is given immediate medical attention, but what about the long-term health effects?

Some household pesticides contain ingredients that have been listed as possible or probable carcinogens (cancer-causing) by health officials yet these products are allowed and registered for use at home. These products could contain little amounts of carcinogens, but still they are dangerous.
